Mitsune "Kitsune" Konno is one of the girls resident at the Hinata Inn. She is a close friend of Naru's. She speaks with a Kansai (Kyoto-area) dialect, which in the English dub of the Anime is rendered as a southern-US accent. She was responsible for teaching Kaolla to speak Japanese, resulting in Kaolla also having a trace of an accent, though she may not be responsible for Kaolla's mangling of the language.
Kitsune describes herself as a freelance writer, but she is never seen pursuing that calling. She prefers to drink sake and to gamble on horses.
Her nickname, "Kitsune", means fox, and may have been given to her because her eyes are usually almost closed, giving her a fox-like appearance. However she is also scheming, with a reputation for cunning just like a fox.
When she believes that Keitaro is a Tokyo University student she attempts to seduce him, supposing that he is likely to become rich and powerful. When she is caught in the act, though, she blames Keitaro, adding to his reputation as a pervert.
Years earlier she had had a crush on Seta, but had deferred to Naru when it was clear that she too had a crush on him.
She developed some affection for Keitaro over time, but in this case too she considered it more important to help her friend Naru to develop her relationship.
