The Love Hina manga (comic) consists of fourteen volumes, each of which is divided into several chapters. There are 118 chapters altogether, plus a two-part epilogue.
- Book 1 kicks off the story, introducing all the main characters except Kanako, Mutsumi, Seta and Sara.
- Book 2 The mock exams are like a roller-coaster ride; as are the new year and Valentine's day celebrations.
- Book 3 After failing the real exam, Keitaro and Naru go on a healing and self-discovery trip and meet Mutsumi.
- Book 4 introduces Seta and Sara, and has Motoko showing her feminine side.
- Book 5 is mainly about the summer trip to Hinata beach.
- Book 6 has Keitaro and Naru's first date, and the return of Mutsumi.
- Book 7 has an ultimatum from Naru. Keitaro must choose between her and Mutsumi.
- Book 8 Thinking he has failed, Keitaro runs away and ends up on Pararakelse island.
- Book 9 Keitaro breaks a leg. Tsuruko comes to take Motoko home. Shinobu decides it's her turn to go on a journey of healing and self-discovery.
- Book 10 On another trip to Okinawa, Mutsumi temporarily loses her memory. Kaolla has a problem. Naru tries her hand at teaching. At Halloween, Keitaro is missing.
- Book 11 Keitaro departs for America. Kanako turns up and takes over the running of the inn.
- Book 12 Keitaro returns, and there's a chase to the northernmost tip of Japan.
- Book 13 Motoko is defeated by her sister Tsuruko. Seta takes Keitaro to MolMol, the rest of the gang follow, and Kaolla's true nature is revealed.
- Book 14 has Keitaro and Naru finally coming together on an official basis.
