Motoko Aoyama is dubbed "Kendo Girl" by Keitaro. Though she sometimes wields a sword, and is extremely proficient with it, it is her directed "ki power" which sends her adversaries flying. When Keitaro, Shirai and Haitani annoy her, she floors them with just a flick of an umbrella. She can carve objects into fantastic shapes just by waving her sword in their general direction.

[edit] Family
Naru speculates that she is "the only daughter of a kendo master whose dojo lies deep in the mountains near Kyoto" and that the Dojo masters are "descendants of this powerful group of fighters that was founded to exorcise the demons and spirits that once appeared in Kyoto". This later turns out to be very close to the truth, though Motoko isn't an only daughter, having a sister, Tsuruko.
[edit] Appearance
She is tall and has long black hair. While she is actually quite attractive looking, she sees herself as unattractive and ungainly, and becomes angry if she is described as cute.
[edit] Prior Lovehina
Motoko moved out of Kyoto because her parents told her that her skill with the sword was excellent but her mind wasn't as sharp. She apparently chose to stay at Hinata because it was close to a school with a good kendo club. She gets up early every morning to practice her sword skills on the flat roof of the annex.
She has a deeply ingrained sense of tradition, like a samurai of centuries ago. She also has an ingrained distrust of males, which often puts her at odds with Keitaro. She also blames Keitaro when her skills deteriorate, considering him to be a distraction.
